This generator is the product of 12 years of research
The StarPower generator came about because we needed an efficient generator that would work with our magnetically levitated vertical axis wind turbines.
The generator had to put no cogging load on the turbine, generate power efficiently at low RPM, and be vibration-free.
As our VAWT turbines could withstand the harshest conditions, the generator would have to be as robust and trouble-free.
The next issue was passing the most rigorous examinations so the people would feel confident that we were selling the safest products.
Finally, we had to make the generators strong enough and protected well enough to offer a 20 year parts and labor warranty. We demanded that people could buy with confidence.
- Efficiency
The more efficient, the shorter time to recover the cost
We start with a digital torquemeter calibrated to NIST standards. This measures the torque applied to the generator and eliminates uncertainty. Once
we know the torque, we multiple that number by RPM and then divide by 5,252. That gives us the horsepower applied. We multiply the horsepower by 745.6 (watts/hp) and we have the
input watts.
Efficiency is not fixed with a permanent magnet generator. It varies with rotor speed. The faster you spin the rotor the more efficient the
StarPower generator becomes. We use this variable speed drive to know the efficiencies at various rotor speeds - and, unlike others, we publish that information.Rather than just telling you have great efficiency, we took the time and spent the money to prove it. We want you to know for certain we had great efficiency. We went even further by demonstrating the generator at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University so you know we have what we say we have.

Simple Promise: If the StarPower generator fails due to a defect in parts or workmanship within 20 years of purchase, return it to us for a no cost repair or replacement. Customer only pays for shipping both ways.
